We should deem a day in the spring as Plant A Chestnut Day.. and then spread the word throughout the Appalachians!

Does anyone know if these trees will eventually be made available widespread and low priced. I assume allot of donations, grants and goodwill went towards this effort and I hope this doesn’t become a for big profit program. I only ask because these seeds seem to be viewed as revenue generators already. I would love to see the reseeding of the whole Appalachian range become a national effort, but it won’t happen if the price is prohibitive, or if the seeds are deemed proprietary.

Alex will run from that thing! Why? When he was little he fell on a pile of chestnut burrs that I had raked up at our old house and he got those burrs stuck in his hands and arms. He still remembers how much it hurt!

I don’t know if a portion of their proceeds go to chestnut trees, but I know that they are very active in promoting/saving chestnut trees. Great post.
